Tail tutorial

Every picture here is just for demonstration! It's to make a small tail, not a full size one. But, it works for big ones too!

First, what you need.
Yarn, a clip for the tail, scissors and, if you're making a pull proof tail, a hair tie

For a pull proof tail, you just tie the hair tie to the clip

Now measure out how long your tail is with the yarn. BEFORE CUTTING, double over so you have a piece of yarn double than the desired tail length. Cut it.

Tie to the clip.
The way I did is by putting both ends trough the hole and ties around the hole.

Now, take something to wrap yarn around. Like a book or something ! That object is double the length of the fur on your tail. Wrap the yarn around the object. After that, cut on top. After you get strands of yarn, gather them and cut them in half.
You should get something like this (I already had these from my previous tail)

From the pile of yarn, take out a few strands. For this small tail, I'm using 7, but I use 10 for my big tail! Use less if you have thicker yarn.
Now, tie them up together to get this.

Get your clip with yarn and put the knot on it like this

Tie it to the strand.

Make more tufts.. You'll need A LOT of tufts.

When you make them, start by putting them under the main strand

Tie them to the main strand.

Push to the bottom

Repeat until you get your tail.
Brushing it put is an option if you want a realistic look, but I have this keychain.
